Harald Nusser is the Head of Global Health and Health Equity at Merck, based in Berlin, Germany. He specializes in addressing global health challenges, focusing on health equity and innovative solutions that create long-term value for patients and society. Harald has extensive experience in Family Planning, Malaria, HIV,
Leprosy, and Visceral Leishmaniasis.

Before joining Merck in June 2024, he led Gilead’s Global Patients Solutions team, managing operations in over 100 Low-Middle-Income Countries and developing strategies for HIV and visceral leishmaniasis elimination in partnership with WHO. At Novartis, he directed malaria programs that reached over 30 million patients annually.

Earlier in his career, Harald held strategic roles at Bayer, contributing to treatments for thromboembolic disorders and cancer, and served as Managing Director for Slovakia and SVP Cluster Head for Bayer’s Healthcare Business across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
